We have several upcoming FREE Welcome Activities for boys and parents/guardians to come and meet members of Pack #473.
Please contact "Cub Master" Ross Smith (
pack473bloomington@gmail.com) at least two days prior to any of these events so that we can adequately plan for the right number of supplies etc and to help make sure we find each other. Remember that all boys must be accompanied by at least one parent/guardian if he is coming as our guest. Come meet our scout family and share these experiences together with us!

Amazing Race - Pack Gathering
St Stephen Lutheran Church 6:00-7:30 PM
Come be our guest for a fun fall kickoff -- our first pack gathering of the school year.
The boys will decorate tshirts at one of the stations so please bring a plain white shirt.
At the end of the night we will do a fun welcome ceremony for all new boys that have joined the Pack in the past year or even that night.
You don't need to commit to everything before you even meet us...so come check out the group.
Find out what we have planned and see if this is a good fit for your family.

Welcome Activity May 2013
Visit with the Rocket Man
8377 Penn Ave., Bloomington
Since the 1960s, Ky Michaelson's rocket-powered vehicles have set 72 state, national, and international speed records and we had an amazing tour!
His penchant for the unknown and passion for speed have been with him since childhood, when he built his first rocket-powered motorcycle. After earning his first world record--for a rocket-powered snowmobile--he decided to go after every acceleration record in the world. We got to hear part of Ky's story, the life of a driven--or rocket-powered--man. Ky tells about how he began and where he's gone, about his work on hundreds of film and television programs, and about his service as program director of "SPACESHOT 2004"--the grand effort of the Civilian Space Exploration Team (CSXT) to build and launch the first amateur rocket into space. And he describes reaching the "impossible dream" as the first amateur to license, and successfully launch, the Go Fast Rocket into space, with an altitude of 72 miles--and a new speed record of 3,420 mph. And his son Buddy continues the tradition.
Saturday June 2013: Welcome Activity
Safety Boot Camp
10:00 AM-12 Bloomington Civic Plaza Amphitheater, 1800 W. Old Shakopee Road
At Safety Boot Camp, you will be able to participate and learn with the help of Bloomington's finest departments and divisions:
Police, Fire, Environmental Health, Public Health, Park Maintenance, and
Parks and Recreation. Kids will earn dog tags after completing a series
of tasks put on by each of the partner agencies.
Several scouts will bring a picnic lunch and their bikes (be sure to
wear a helmet) to stay until 1:30 PM. Look for the boys in their
uniform to find us.
